Meanwhile Texas Tech struggled late Thursday at Stillwater. Oh if only your bozo wearing sunglasses on the sideline gave his Big 12 freshmen offensive player of the year a scholarship but nooooo hey diddle diddle dick him along till he finds a new home and now suddenly he's a Tech quarterback again that can't transfer without penalty.
EDIT: Link here. He will have 3 years to complete 2 years of eligibility. Texas Tech once again dicked around with him when the appeals process went through them rather than the NCAA.
Here is your team to cheer for besides OU for the rest of the season:A second attempt to get Texas Tech to release him was denied by the Big 12 school as well.
Oct 4: Kansas State
Oct 11: West Virginia
Oct 18: Kansas
Oct 25: TCU
Nov 1: Texas
Nov 15: Oklahoma (like, cheer twice as hard I guess?)
Nov 22: Iowa State
Nov 29: Baylor
Seriously, beat the hell outta them. 2-10. Make it happen

I have an unrivaled hatred of Tech at this moment.
I am looking for a Jefferson-style beatdown of Tech in response:
If you're curious here you go. The Baylor game is Arlington
They are awfully determined to **** that kid over.
Recruits should take notice.

The conference rules are one thing, and I think that's where he loses a year of eligibility. But the NCAA is another. I would like to see the reasoning behind their decision.
2-3 years from now, Baker may be able to appeal for that third year back if he wants it, and Tech isn't going to be able to do sh!t.
on a somewhat related note, kudos to Mike Leach for his come from behind 28-27 victory over Utah. Wazzzzzzu that's whoooo
I can see him being denied playing this year. I can see it, but don't necessarily agree with it since he wasn't on scholly and went to school on his own dime.
However losing a year of eligibility is complete and total BS. I would also like to hear the reasoning behind this.
But Dean said he would be illegible ?

Big 12 rule for transferring in the conference. It can be waived by the school if they so choose, no way KK does anything that magnanimous. I do think its crap that the rules apply to walkons the same as scholly players. Walkons should be free to do whatever they want.
At least a small something went right with Mayfield. I have to think over the next two years, he'll get his 3rd year back, somehow.
