TAMU - 73 vs. Lamar - 3 Lamar??? At least we beat a supposed strong D1 team, Lamar???

Re: So where's Lupica and his outrage???

It was a very weak team to schedule ... no arguments. But if you saw the game and only a few of us diehards stayed up ... you'd have seen who we had playing in the game at the end, lol.

Now we take the Delorean back to the SWC era as we face Rice, SMU, and Arkansas is consecutive weeks. Since I was on campus during the SWC era, be a fun three weeks for me. :-)

Mac94, This wasn't about TAMU or OU and opponents, but more about Lupica. I didn't watch the TAMU game, but knowing Sumlin as a Stoops product, I would bet he was playing the freshmen and the walk-ons. I bet he would have suited out the students if he could. Lupica was such an a$s after our game calling OU out, I just had to wonder out loud...

Re: So where's Lupica and his outrage???

Just looked at their box score, & the first thing that struck me is that OU threw exactly half (White had 18, PT the other 3 ) of the passes that A&M did Saturday. That isn't my favorite OU game by any stretch, but it still makes me smh when I think how fast it got out of control in the 2nd quarter. Not sure I've seen another one like it, esp. against a team that beat OU the year before.

77-0 is just one of those games ... every Aggie I know puts that squarely on Fran and our 2003 coaches ... it was an unfair and no win situation for OU to be in.

To be fair Lupica probably didn't comment on this because he wasn't able to watch the game.

Everybody needs to get off Lupica's back. He's a top flight "sports journalist". The score was 73-3 for cryin out loud. It's not like it was 77-0.

I was PO'd at the Sooners for letting the Lupica remarks mess them up in any way. For the team or its coaches to have paid any attention to a jerkwad sportswriter was/is VERY ill advised.
Put a lid on it! Kiss it goodbye. We gave it away, and apparently thought it made sense to do so.

less than a month before 77-0, there was 73-10:

where was Lupica to defend poor Baylor?

OU pulled starters, scored on defense and at some point let the game clock run in real time. it was a mercy killing and they could have scored 100 if they wanted.

Good thing Stupica wes not around when Owen was coaching OU,scores like 179-0,157-0,140-0 and 103-0 would have made his head explode.
    Owen '05-'26 122-54-16 .677 (Foundation)
    Wilkinson '47-'63 145-29-4 .829 (DYNASTY 1) 3 NC
    Switzer '73-'88 157-29-4 .837(DYNASTY 2) 3 NC
Stoops '99- PRESENT 179-46.793 (DYNASTY 3) 1 NC and still WAITING

At OU tradition is about more than just one coach 861-319-53 .720

....c'mon guys...Lupica doesn't have a book coming out, it was expedient then just so the general public would know he existed when his trash hit the bookstores

"Graceless"- that's the word he used in describing 77-0
