Scoreless first quarter for OU. Dawgs go up 3-0. Sooner running game begins to click as RB nerves calm and we chew up time and score 4 TD and a Hunnicut in last 3 quarters. Passing game starts slow as Tech D keys on Shep. OU D gives up two FG and a coverage bust goes for a long TD at some point.

On the other hand, if this team plays to its potential, it could be real ugly early. But I am guessing the mostly untested running backs and receivers will need some time to get their bearings.

But let us not forget: it was 0-0 after the first quarter, and we led only 10-0 right before halftime; and only 13-0 on a last second Hunnicutt field goal at the half.

A 21-point third quarter (with two Knight TD passes) wound up being the difference.

That game was closer than it looked.

Also, with a few exceptions, an awful lot of Stoops' teams come out of the gate pretty slowly, prompting much "what is wrong with the Sooners?" commentary for a couple of weeks.

How in hell is a ****ing SHUT OUT a Close game?
