So is there justification for hitting a man? Hey, you Borenites got what you wanted, why don't you let us simmer in peace?

Re: Sooner Nation natives are restless tonight...

How does this affect the team?

I'm guessing it really doesn't right now.

When Stoops brought in the new coaches, I felt like there was a change of philosophy. One of the biggest was the "next man up" mentality. We lost a lot of talent throughout the season, and played the best game of the year in the Sugar Bowl. We lost our leader on defense, what appeared to be a difference changer on the line, and our most versatile offensive weapon. We missed big time players for some games (Colvin, Williams), and half of our offensive line at the time it mattered most. Yet, we still finished a pretty damn good season. I think this team knows that it's bigger than any one player, and to win, everyone has to be ready when their name is called.

Having Mixon available this year would have been nice. At the very least, he would have added depth. However, we still have a couple (at least) of guys, that aren't exactly slouches, to carry the ball.

Mixon was a highly touted recruit, but he wasn't a team leader.

I don't think this will be a distraction, or will cripple this team in any way.

For the first time in a while, I think this team understands it's the sum of all parts that's important.

Regarding his relationship with the rest of the team, remember those ESPN rumors about him being unhappy or not fitting in on campus? If they were completely baseless, ESPN is even worse than I thought.
The enduring image of Oklahoma was that ridiculous double–middle finger of a game-icing kick. It was probably an accident, which somehow made it more, not less, insulting. It was as though Stoops had partied so hard on the corpse of the SEC that he woke up with an unplanned tattoo.

If you expected any of us to turn whorn or orange aggy, just because we have possibly gotten too PC at the top, think again.
Put a lid on it! Kiss it goodbye. We gave it away, and apparently thought it made sense to do so.

And some 20% or so of our fellows feel compelled to 'carry' when they go to Walmart.

Is this paranoid insanity? Or a rational response to a real threat? I'd suggest that the arguments on either side are more persuasive than the folks opposed to them might like to admit.

I have NEVER hit a woman in my 47 yrs on this earth, but I will guarantee you that if a chick went all drunken crazy on me and slapped me on my ear...I am no longer obligated to act like a gentleman.

A Borenite is a term that is defined as a Sooner poster that marches in lockstep with PC Pres. Boren. They are happy young Joe Mixon was excessively punished, and they feel deep sympathy for the helpless victim, Miss Molitor. Further, the Borenite takes great pleasure in the knuckle-dragging Neanderthals being irritated by Boren's heavy-handedness. They got their way, more than most of them dared hope, and now they wish to push said victory in our face. They will probably secretly take pleasure if the Sooner football team loses a game this season due to a weak rushing attack. They are sitting fat and happy right now...just like Boren.

The sweeping generalization that just soft PC type people think Mixon was in the wrong is nonsense. My father is an 80+ y.o. get-off-my-lawn, cranky white man who is the polar opposite of PC and he thinks Mixon was in the wrong. He's also a huge life long OU fan. Most his friends are just like him.

Secretly take pleasure in OU losing a game? So a borenite is someone who isn't a real fan.
