Another point is that if he transfers he can at least redshirt...I think. He can't do that at OU off scholarship, if my thinking is correct.
Based on ESPN rankings. DGB 5 stars, Mixon 4 stars, I realize that the sites aren't unanimous usually, but whatever, being upset about this isn't going to make Aug. 30 get here any faster
I don't think he can transfer using the run off rule because he isn't kicked out of the university....
Maybe this was all planned out and he plans on staying....hopefully more info comes out soon.
I hate ESPN's rankings, but nonetheless I think we were on the same page. I thought you were trying to say Mixon was the higher rated player (FWIW).
For the record: Rivals had em both as 5 stars, but DGB was their #1 rated player for 2012 (again FWIW)
Anyway, not real happy with the program/university when it appears all someone would have to do to get any particular player thrown under the jail is hire some drunken skank to goad them into defending themselves.

I normally couldn't care less about Bob's statements to the media - it being largely his brand of belligerent coach speak, but I do want to hear what he says about this dealio.

Can anybody recall if Broyles received the same punishment?
It's funny because it would seem the university is being run by a 16th century Puritan.
...and that it sends a message to OU "student athletes" that if they defend themselves in a social setting they'll likely be suspended from their sport.
Barring some news from the university that might be forthcoming it is an absurd situation.
