Reading the Devonte Fields case at TCU, his suspension at TCU made him ineligible to participate at another school. I don't know if the situation is the same, but if so, the only reason for Mixon to transfer would be for the fresh start.

...and that it sends a message to OU "student athletes" that if they defend themselves in a social setting they'll likely be suspended from their sport.
