You welcome debate as long as the person you are debating accepts your positions without question. I have shown fact after fact on here, like cp tax cuts do not cause cg tax revenues to go up - but you guys keep coming back to it, just sticking to the rightwing talking point. No data can sway you.

Go on imagining me screaming - the fact is I'm laughing my *** off at the adherence to rightwing positions.

Hmm...I'll take an economist like Stephen Moore and his opinion on tax cuts and the effects on revenues over yours. But why this has anything to do with the original post, I'm not sure.

Back to the original post, these billionaires can do whatever they want with their money--it is their money. Give it to starving kids, whacko scientists, or their own spoiled children.

I'm sure the billionaires think they're doing a positive thing. I mean, remember when Boone Pickens promoted that life insurance to benefit OSU plan, he didn't call it "Hurry up and die so OSU can cash in," he called it "The Gift of a Lifetime." Might as well be strumming a heavenly harp while singing that heavenly phrase while a choir of angels goes Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

You need to look at the entire economic situation when determining acceptable tax rates....

The reason Clinton's tax increases were acceptable was due to a booming economy....all segments benefitted from the technology advances that arrived daily....efficiency improved dramatically...profits soared due to those production improvements...lowered interest rates supplied "cheap" money (vs what they had been paying 5 or 10 years earlier)

Our current situation is far different than what Clinton dealt with....

We don't have quite the technical revolution that we had in the 80's (we do have an energy explosion but we don't seem to want to maximize this gift horse)....we are looking at increased interest rates, not lower....we don't have 5% GDP growth and none is expected....

We need 19% revenue (a little higher if possible)....it is going to take some tax increases to get to that point...

The sad part is that lackluster revenue is only half the problem...spending at 21% of GDP isn't going to cut it...table 1.2 shows projections of 21% spending levels through 2019

    HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAA TOO FUNNY!!!!

You are going to belive this lying sack of ****?

Krugman in that article also took a shot at the credibility of Moore. The former Wall Street Journal editorial writer — who earlier this year challenged Krugman to a debate on economic issues — supports the low-tax mantra of Arthur Laffer, an economist who led Brownback and Kansas into the tax-cut wasteland and decimation of state revenues in 2014.

Moore responded to Krugman’s column in early July in The Star, stating “strategic tax-rate reductions can ignite growth and employment.”

However, research shows Moore used outdated and inaccurate job growth information at a key point in his article.

Moore had written that states following “Krugman’s (and President Barack Obama’s) economic strategy are getting clobbered by tax-cutting states.” Moore then added with a bit of snark:

“No-income-tax Texas gained 1 million jobs over the last five years; California, with its 13 percent tax rate, managed to lose jobs. Oops. Florida gained hundreds of thousands of jobs while New York lost jobs. Oops.”

Here are the problems that led to a corrected version of Moore’s column on The Star’s website.

Moore wrote about job creation “over the last five years.” But he later told The Star he had measured from December 2007 to December 2012, using federal Bureau of Labor Statistics information. That decision misled readers. The bureau’s data is updated monthly, so he could have provided more up-to-date figures, not nearly 18-month-old data.

Texas did not gain 1 million jobs in the 2007-2012 period Moore measured. The correct figure was a gain of 497,400 jobs.

Florida did not add hundreds of thousands of jobs in that span. It actually lost 461,500 jobs.

New York, with it very high income tax rates, did not lose jobs during that time. It gained 75,900 jobs.

The problems with Moore’s article damage his credibility. They also don’t help bolster Brownback’s argument that his experimental tax cuts are going to work out just fine for the state’s residents.

True, jobs figures can be cherry-picked by people on both sides of this debate. Since December 2012 — when Moore stopped measuring employment growth — California has added 541,000 jobs, more than Texas’ 523,400. So, high taxes are good?

After the corrections were published online, some national websites picked them up, criticizing Moore for using incorrect data.

My credibility comes from being right. Time after time on here these guys post outright lies then fight to the death when they are proved wrong - cg tax rates is a prime example. I came on this board and started to push back on the lies they tell then circle around and agree with each other, then they threw out the first punch, i just returned fire.

and I'm done with dems like you "sonny" afraid of your own shadow and worried about being bullied by the guys. What about the discourse on their side? I didn't throw out the first punch.

I brought up cap gains...show me where I was disrespectful to you.....

    You proved absolutely nothing...

The fact of the matter is that cap gain rates were decreased in both Clinton's term and Bush's term...in both cases revenue increased...in Clinton's case the economy was great...Bush's, not so much....

Was the economy the main reason revenue went up? Of course...

And that is my point...you can dick around and cry about tax rates and have little affect on revenue (the long term history of revenue to GDP shows this)..but if you improve the economy you will see revenue increases...

We have far too many allowable deductions....too many legal ways to slide money around to avoid paying taxes....

Obama, with his economic flavor of the week, decides this week to attack corp's that are moving overseas to avoid taxes....no **** Sherlock...

There is no way we can win the labor cost or tax rate battle...so we must look at ways of lowering costs that other countries will have a hard time following suit....

Transportation costs are an example of an area where we are far cheaper...we should attempt to maximize that advantage even further...
Energy costs are another area where we are cheaper...another area where we could further stretch our advantage....our leadership doesn't want to pizz off the minions prior to the midterms so he has postponed, delayed, or just dragged his feet to keep from any debate prior to the elections...in an attempt to further the Democratic party he is blatantly delaying economic benefits that will lower cost to business and each and every citizen...I would say that is being a ****head...
