Trevor Knight in the Spring Game

I've watched the video a couple times now. Negative reports of Knight's play are highly exaggerated. I saw nothing that suggests he won't continue to shine as OU's starting qb.

    Agreed.

It didn't help that he had linemen and receivers out either. He'll be fine.

Some people just happen to think the sky is falling at every turn.

Further, I believe his ability and likability may lead to a 6th statue.

Disagree. I say the TK QB era is pretty much over given his inconsistency. But he can still be useful as a game manager for the '14 season while we get all the young skill guys some experience. Then Mayfield can take over in '15 and lead us to #8!

Mike Stoops was recently quoted on NewsOK saying that he's never seen such a devoted worker as Knight. Says given his running and passing ability we'd better watch out.

Game manager? We aren't talking about Hybl. Knight is a stud. And he's not even close to being a finished product yet. He's just coming off a redshirt FRESHMAN year.

not sure if your post was at me (I stated that he didn't look too good, but didn't see people saying he sucked) BUT also said we had 18 or so starters out. I don't think TK is a done deal at all...he had a great game against bama...is he a Heisman?...who knows. Time will tell.
How do you know if you get there, if you don't know where you are going?..oh and I had 1,713 post on the "other board"..I hate being a rookie again!

My post wasn't at anyone in particular. I just think Knight looked plenty good on Saturday considering:

    1. He was ruled down by contact.
    2. He was missing several OL starters
    3. The defense had a huge advantage in play recognition

Several of the passes he made on near sprint rollouts told me all I needed to know.

Re: Trevor Knight in the Spring Game

Let me express the same point of this topic in a different view. After watching the Spring game, I think TK is just scratching the surface on his talent and the 1st defense is such an UNBELIEVABLE group to be able to stop this talented QB down to a no-show game.

    Watch out!

Hey, that's my fishin' net - go get your own!

Dang, everyone is so mellow this offseason. Thought for sure I could draw some indignant posts in defense of TK.

You'd think the program could afford another red jersey. He doesn't play well in blue.

You can't fake or luck into what he did to Alabama, period.

    Yep.

There will still be some inconsistent times this year, but he's going to be just fine.

This is kinda cool. I don't know how these guys do it. Game is a whole lot faster than when I played high school.

You can actually tell that TK wasn't that far off on a couple of throws.

It is definitely a faster game than I remember. I help coach a local high school (nothing major, position work) and I'm always amazed at how much faster the high school game is nowadays. I can't even imagine playing at the collegiate level or beyond.

    Thanks for posting this!

That's pretty cool. I couldn't even pick out where his receivers were, let alone if they were open. LOL!

Peter Gardere would like a word with you. There have always been guys who played abnormally well against one opponent but not so much against anyone else.
