Thumbs up Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa

Grand Opening was 4/27......admission is free on Sunday, 4/28 as well. A truly interactive place where one can explore the life and times of one of Oklahoma's native sons. Woody was a little left for my taste, but he was a very talented man. Songwriter, artist, musician, hobo, migrant worker, Merchant Marine, father, son... he led quite a life.

Go visit the Center. You will not regret it..

Plus, there is an eatery named "Caz's Chowhouse" (thanks picasso) just a couple hundred feet to the west on Brady. The beef in my burger was the freshest tasting that I've had in months! You won't regret this either.

He's prolly OK's most famous leftist. I do like some of his songwriting, esp. Pastures of Plenty, and So Long, it's Been Good to know ya.
Put a lid on it! Kiss it goodbye. We gave it away, and apparently thought it made sense to do so.

Well Guthrie wasn't alone. At about the same point in time, Oklahoma had the largest number of socialists than any state of the Union.

Who do you think is his major contender for OK's most famous Leftist?

Yes, picasso, that is the place... and the fries were as good as the burger!

Everybody go to Caz's Chowhouse for a fantastic burger and good service! And go by the Woody Guthrie Center too.

I've always been kind of embarassed that he was from Oklahoma. His moronic populism doesn't even qualify as well thought out socialism. It's just whiny 'gimme' philosophy. Pared with ear-hurtin' bad folk.

His singing voice and musicianship are not why he has the legendary status, it's his writing and song construction.

Of course, even well thought out socialism is counter to human nature. His singing might be compared with Bob Dylan, though Dylan was a better and more prolific writer than Woody.
