This is a good reminder of why so many of us love the program and how Sherri has run it for so long.

I have always viewed a "Sweet 16" as a successful basketball season, and in fact, the first one that you should hang a banner for. It is really telling for programs who would rather hang their coaches with said banner than hang the banner in appreciation.
KU Sweet 16? Depends on if you're referring to the women (yay!) or the men (booo ref screwjob michigan sucks grrrrrrr)
OU's Sweet 16 in OKC? (yay!) or Baylor's (boooo ref screwjob louisville sucks grrrrr)
There's probably a more eloquent way of putting that (an important time to point out that Sherri Coale is probably still an English teacher at heart), but regardless of the circumstances, regardless of what expectations are, I hope that achievements like this that so few programs get to enjoy will never become old, and will always be celebrated.
That's exactly what college sports SHOULD be about. Kudos to Coach Coale for writing such an eloquent article. It is all about the journey and keeping the compass heading north.
And, thanks NMSooner for sharing the link.
