At the time he was killed, Kennedy was not faring too well with the electorate and was facing a possible defeat for reelection in '64. His trip to Texas was to try to increase his image and poll numbers.

His win in '60 was razor thin, helped in large part, by the election fraud in Chicago perpetrated by Sam Giaconna and mayor Daley. It was by their hands, that Kennedy won Illinois. Texas was also subjected to fraudulent votes by the Johnson machine. So, Kennedy was already on thin ice with the electorate.

The press, so enamored with the evil Kennedy's, much like it was with the current stooge in the White House, they refused to report any real damaging information about the king and queen. When their king was killed, he became god like , in their praise of him.

In the past couple of decades, more and more of the sleazy side of the Kennedy clan has emerged. Pappa Kenedy, a bootlegger, was a staunch anti-Jew and an outskopen supported of Nazi Germany. We all know the Ted, the killer, Kennedy's story - from getting kicked out of Harvard for cheating, to killing the pregnant Mary Jo. The sordid lifestyle of the entire clan is more criminal-like, than pubic servant, or high society.

It did have to do with the liberal press. The three networks were run by compliant Democrats. If you look at the news readers of the time: Walter Conkite, Chet Huntley & David Brinkley, or the ABC guy - I forgot his name. They were all flaming libs, no different than today. They did put their spin on stories, but since ther was no alternative media, there was nothing to provide the other side.
