Nobody good runs for president anymore, because it's just not worth it. You get more power as a Senator without the spotlight, or as a lobbyist without having to worry about reelection. Therefore, you get idiots that have no personality, no ideas, and no scruples running for the job just because it's a big name. None of them run to change things for the better. They run to say they did it and to be important.

And we wonder why our government sucks? We incentivise their behavior, whether we realize it or not. We need to incentivise better behavior to fix things.
