I find myself avoiding SF.com more and more...

and reading other Sooner message boards instead. I wanted to share my thoughts (despite the potential of being negged) because I feel other people may have this opinion as well.

The amount of pointless threads are a big detraction from this site. I am specifically talking about the threads that are a spinoff of another thread, in an attempt to be funny. The most recent examples are the threads of “How old were you when…”

I don’t find this amusing, just annoying, and something that causes me to avoid SoonerFans more and more. I use to love this site, and the people that posted on it.

I hope that we can help self-police these people. Also, the admins need to step-in and block the people posting these topics, as well as lock the topics so they die a quick death.

I completely understand man, but there's a few things people should understand:

1- We had a season that not many people still want to talk about.

2- We are ending the year on transfers, coaching rumors and a mid-tier bowl against a crap tier opponent (no offense to Hawkeyes)

3- It's as much the other poster's fault for not posting something more interesting to talk about.

As much as copycat threads get annoying, we need new topics to discuss or they're gonna pop up on here outta sheer boredom.

When all the Fun threads are either LOCKED or moved because they "Bother" a Mod ' Its time to move on then .

I agree with the OP. The copycat threads are simply annoying and detract from the board. It baffles me why nobody does anything to stop them. I understand it on the SO but not on the main football board.

Frankly, I thought the Gibbs thread was very interesting. It was great to read about other's thoughts when Switzer left and Gibbs took over. Copycat threads are kind of an indictment on the original thread and I don't think that thread deserved it.
