NCAA: Major violations for Sooner bball

    Thanks again, Felton J.

    Link

The NCAA has put Oklahoma on three years of probation and issued a $15,000 fine for major violations in its men's basketball program.

The Division I infractions committee also vacated all 13 wins from Oklahoma's 2009-10 season, took away a scholarship and limited recruiting efforts.

Most of the penalties had been proposed by the school, which said former assistant Oronde Taliaferro broke NCAA rules by failing to report that a player had received an impermissible extra benefit and by lying to investigators.
I cannot forget those last two years of Felton J. fast enough. Did I mention there's a new season starting tonight at 7 p.m. televised in OKC/Tulsa in on Cox channel 3/703? GO LON!

Wow! Jeff In-CAPEL-ble sucked worse than we thought. He didn't win a single game in 2009/10. He sucks worse than John Blake.

Basically, no penalty. Good deal. The monkey is off Kruger's back.

About the three years probation - what does that mean exactly? Are there any post-season penalties - or - do we just need to be clean for the next three years?

The only postseason penalty we got out of this ordeal was not being good enough to make the postseason

We basically need to keep our nose clean for three years... and as simple as it may sound... we aren't very good at it

The loss of the scholarship and "limited" recruiting efforts are essentially the same as a post season ban. If Lon can get us through the next three years with some dignity (and I think he will), then we didn't get it too bad considering the violations.

We got off light again. NCAA always takes it easy on OU.

Much worse. If they had labeled us a repeat offender, which we were, we would have faced much stronger penalties.
