    That is very odd...

Obama said, and I quote, "You can't just make money on SUVs and trucks. There is a place for SUVs and trucks, but as gas prices keep on going up, you have got to understand the market. People are going to try to save money."

I guess there is a place for trucks.. As your number one seller and money maker.

People are just accepting $3+ per gallon gas as the norm. When prices first shot up over $3, people freaked out and looked to small cars and hybrids. Now that gas prices are on the news every night, people return to their normal lives and are buying whichever vehicle they want regardless of mpgs.

    Re: Sept Auto Sales

I saw my first Chevy Volt earlier this week on I-35.. It was probably going about 60 and everyone else was going 75.. I barely had time to see it. It has probably already been rearended with toxic battery fumes going everywhere..

They did have a better month though. They sold 723 for the month. Cars.com shows about 2800 available throughout the nation. Nissan Leaf sales actually fell last month, but was still over a 1000.

One thing that pi$$es me off to no end is this item.

On a conference call with reporters and analysts to discuss September sales, representatives from GM said that the Volt is proving to be a magnet for new, affluent customers to Chevrolet. To date, buyers have an average income of $175,000
Why are we giving a $7500 tax break to people with an average income of $175K for buying a car they would buy anyway?

Leafs, like the mother canucker hockey team

I am not surprised that people aren't jumping at new tech yet. People shied away from hybrids initially too and now more people are accepting them.

When I saw one for the first time, I was amazed --- you wouldn't know the car was on when it was sitting dormant.
