I almost felt like they were shaking their finger at us, though, when in fact they should have been setting the tone of shaking their fingers at themselves, the media, for blowing this outta proportion.

Whenever I (halfway jokingly) mention to a Cubs fan that he should dress as Steve Bartman for Halloween, he recoils. There is clearly still some bitterness over what was supposed to be the last year of the curse.

No doubt. The media was a huge factor in the aftermath. But, that stadium came unhinged and I was terrified for that guy. "The Mob" is deadly...

It was a funny story how they tried to sneak him out. Reminded me of hearing about how the Aggie mob wouldn't let the Rice band (ironically known as "The MOB") leave after making fun of them at halftime (probably also didn't help that Rice ended up beating A&M in that game too). Security ended up sneaking Rice band members out in food trucks.
