What are the words to the first line of the A&M fightsong again..?

Was thinking about this the other day.

    Just thought it was ironic.

Hullabaloo, caneck, caneck (whatever the hell that means) made you think irony?

Now if you want to talk ironic, I think the second line to Texas Fight might be pretty ironic soon.

Re: What are the words to the first line of the A&M fightsong again..?

    From the Urban Dictionary....

the first word of the phrase "hullabaloo caneck caneck" which is the start of the Texas A&M University War Hymn; represents the sound a cannon ball makes as it rolls down the barrel of the cannon while being loaded.

Uh...I haven't loaded any cannon balls recently, but I'm pretty sure that they don't sound like that when being loaded.

Yes there is irony there....not quite the first line though ...both school's fight songs mention saying goodbye to the other.

Texas Fight Texas Fight and its goodbye to a&m

The Ags take it a bit further

    Good-bye to Texas University
So long to the Orange and the White
Good luck to the dear old Texas Aggies
They are the boys that show the real old fight
"The eyes of Texas are upon you..."
That is the song they sing so well
    So good-bye to Texas University

Re: What are the words to the first line of the A&M fightsong again..?

    From Wkipedia
The starting phrase of the song, "Hullabaloo, Caneck! Caneck!" came from an Old Army Aggie yell written in 1907.[4] Texas A&M University president Jack K. Williams jokingly defined it as Chickasaw Indian for "Beat the hell out of the University of Texas"[5]
In 1928, Wilson wrote another verse at the request of several Aggie students who thought the original was too focused on the Aggies' rivalry with the University of Texas. This verse is now the first verse of the song but it never caught on, in part because many felt it sounded too much like an Ivy League song. To this day, the second (original) verse is usually sung twice.[6]
The second verse opens with "Goodbye to texas university". These words were chosen since Aggies refer to their principal athletic rival, the University of Texas, as "texas university", or "t.u."
The first (unused) verse is bracketed below:
    Hullabaloo, Caneck, Caneck
    Hullabaloo, Caneck, Caneck
[All hail to dear old Texas A&M]
    [Rally around Maroon and White]
[Good luck to dear old Texas Aggies]
[They are the boys who show the real old fight]
[That good old Aggie Spirit thrills us]
[And makes us yell and yell and yell]
[So let's fight for dear old Texas A&M]
[We're gonna beat you all to…]
    [Chigaroogarem, Chigaroogarem]
[Rough, Tough, real stuff Texas A&M]
    Good bye to texas university
So long to the orange and the white
Good luck to dear old Texas Aggies
They are the boys who show the real old fight
"the eyes of Texas are upon you"
That is the song they sing so well
So good bye to texas university
We're gonna beat you all to…

I just went and loaded a cannon and it sounded like this...

    blrbrlbrlrbrlrbrlrbrbrbrrbrrbbb....doink!

    Make that into a song!

They obsess over each other by singing about them all year long. We just do the upside down hook 'em hand sign all year long.

I like to hear the band play Boomer Sooner at key moments, but I don't spend time actually singing it...aggies are strange.

    Big difference!

Joking aside, I am surprised that they don't sing their first verse, but just sing "goodbye to texas" verse twice.

They can move to a different conference, but that won't change the fact that Texas is still the state's main school, in the state's capitol, getting the best recruits.

And can you just picture the other coaches recruiting pitches once they SECede?

"You know they still wave the Confederate flag in Dixie, right?"

"Oh yeah, the SEC is a wonderful place to grayshirt. I bet your parents just can't wait to pay for your first year on your 'football scholarship.'"

"What is it that Ole Miss chants at football games? The South Will Rise Again?"

"So you want to go to an SEC school in Texas for championships? Is that their 1939 national championship, or their 1998 conference championship?"

Seriously, good luck keeping the SEC off your College Station lawns

People can say whatever they want about the Bootlegger's Boy...just make sure that in MY presence, it's good, or I'll wipe the floor with you.

We went to the OU / ATM game in 2000, and sat in the upper decks with the Aggies, and they explained that all of the songs are against Texas, no matter who the opponent is. The swaying back and forth is the sawing off "Varsity's" horns off, which was Bevo's name at one time.

These are the same people that bury the dogs behind the football field with a score board!

And make a tradition out of everything...
Everything progressives do is aimed at weakening democracy, capitalism and the social and cultural institutions that support those things...... They are about subjugating people and being a ruling class.

I think the SEC schools would be rather confused to hear A&M's fight song.

(Freshmen: AAAAAA!) (Sophomores: A-A-A-A-A!) (Juniors: A-A-A-WHOOP!) (Seniors: WHOOP)
I guess from the outside none of us ever will understand them....

I'm really really glad that OU doesn't insist on calling Texas "T.U." instead of "UT."

Of all their asinine, ridiculously over the top, and sometimes disturbing traditions...that one is definitely one of the most annoying.
