Any beer thread is a good thread.
Even if it is a copycat of a copycat. Beer wins.

A properly done special bitter is a work of art. Anyone can dump a garbage bag full of Cascade hops into a brew.
Cascadia Dark Ale/BlackIPA on the other hand...

Yes, did so in March, and it was terrible. But that was just one place...

Probably the latter. It was skunky and thin. No mouthfeel (lol) and the flavors were muted because of some random wild yeast that got in there. It was very disappointing...

Exactly! Plus, I had afternoon tea in Bath, and that made up for it. Now I know why they enjoy tea so damn much.

This is a kind of fun one too: http://www.shmaltz.com/HEBREW/j14.html 14% ABV.
I read somewhere that someone just made a beer that is 60% alcohol. That's a 120 proof beer my friends!!!

I think the way they do that is that they freeze it, then shave off the ice so there is a beer concentrate. Because most yeasts crap out at about 14-18%

ESB is awesome.
I love IPAs and Imperial Stouts too but I like to have different styles on different nights. And I agree with Delhalew, some IPAs are just a big hop dump (thought most IPAs are great), fewer brewers try to produce the more subtle ESB.
