Capel-less Coaching Thread

I know we already have a couple threads somewhat pertaining to this subject, but they are filled with discussion of whether we should have gotten rid of Capel or not. That's fine, but it gets difficult trying to find information on who our new coach might be in those threads. This thread is for discussion not involving Capel, and no, bringing up Capel would not be creative.

Many people want BCG, but according to Chris Level that's very unlikely. He says it's basically a done deal for him to go to Tech.

Jeff Goodman thinks that Buzz Williams will be a candidate at OU. He has some history in Oklahoma and Texas. He was an assistant at Texas A&M, and I'm thinking those would've been the BCG years. Apparently he is a good recruiter in Texas?

I don't see why hiring a Terry Evans would really do any good for the program. No recruiting grounds worth noting, and no division 1 coaching experience. How is that any better than Capel? I thought you hire to get better, not worse.

Dont hate me, I would just like to get a name that is well known. We should be better than this.

Mark Gottfried – On Jan. 26, when it seemed obvious that Alabama was on its way to a third straight losing season in the SEC, Gottfried resigned as the Crimson Tide’s coach after 10-plus seasons. Still, it’s safe to say that Gottfried will probably get another chance sometime soon. Gottfried – who spent three seasons at Murray State – has a career record of 278-155 and led Alabama to five straight NCAA tournament appearances from 2002-2006. His 2003-04 squad reached the Elite Eight.
