The bill to allow wine and stronger beer sales outside of liquor stores has been tabled till next year.

Considering some of the legislation that is getting through, this probably shouldn't have been the one tabled

I'm taking matters into my own hands. Homebrewing materials to arrive any day. First up, a pale ale and and American wheat for working out in the yard, and an Oatmeal Stout and Porter to age until next winter.
Suck it, Oklahoma beer Nazis.

So, who are the opponents of this bill? Maybe the liquor store owners or the liquor distributors, which could lose big money, if the bill was passed.
Liquor store owners, primarily. And a few religious kooks that think their opinions should be state law for everyone.

I guess I'll have to keep going to the liquor store for beer. I just wish it was open sundays. I have two days off and that's one of them, same as most people. Trust me, god doesn't care what day you drink on...

The big nice ones with selection probably wouldn't be affected too much. But the stupid little ones you see come and go next to 7-ELEVENs, that were started up by some foreigners or a couple of frat guys that can't grow up after they graduate, those would probably disappear if they passed this law.

I've got 12 extract batches under my belt. My last 2 were Russian Imperial Stouts. These were so good I had an offer from a guy wanting to buy some. I aged them a year before I even started drinking them and have some left that is over 3 years old.
I want to move to all grain brewing but I've been procrastinating. I should get set up and start brewing in September or early October when it starts coolling off. The biggest challenge by far in my opinion is maintaining proper fermentation temperatures in the mid 60's in the hot Oklahoma weather. When I was in an apartment I could leave the fermenter in a small room with a window unit AC set low. I'm not quite sure how I'll manage the temperature regulation in a house.

I'm the kind of guy that had to use all the restraint I could muster, to keep from jumping straight into all grain.
Having two small children who love nothing more than breaking ****, I am planning for the coming eventuality of the garage getting too hot. Also I want to make a Dunkel for a German friend of mine, Dunkel being a lager, you know what that entails. I am shopping old fridges, one for fermentation and another for a kegerator. Since I will be using a thermostat override, a deep freeze would work as well. Now when do I start running out of space...?

Just put it in a closet on the inside of your house.

Ah, well yeah if you want to do lagering temps you'll need a cheap fridge that can hold a carboy at least.

I don't think the air temp in any closet in the summer will be below 70 -75. I guess I can experiment by taking a carboy equipped with a temperature strip and filling with water and see what the liquid temperature average is in various areas.
You also have to factor in that the yeast activity will raise the temp. a little as well. A modified fridge box of some sort is the best solution if one can be rigged up that can reliably keep a stable temp. and not jack your utility bill.

There would be no guarantee that they would sell them on Sundays in stores. Take Florida for example. You can't buy beer on Sundays until noon even tho the product is on the floor. I could see Oklahoma doing something stupid like that. No high point beer and wine sells on Sundays.
