    Thunder @ Portland

Looking pretty good so far, especially considering Sunday and last nights performances against a (supposedly) terrible Utah team and a question mark Clippers team.

This is the Thunder team we have been waiting for, now we just have to hold on...

With a record of 109-23 (.826) and six Big 12 championships in 10 seasons, Stoops has reason to be arrogant. But he is not. He is somewhere between humble and unimpressed.

Whatever message Brooksie gave the guys in practice, it seems to have gotten through

I was there. Portland choked, but give the Thunder credit. They're still a few players away from really going deep, but Durant/Westbrook is a nice combo.

There were a ton of Sonic fans in Sonic gear rooting for the Thunder. Weird.

Winning at Portland was a good deal for the Thunder. Lets go put it to the Celts on Sunday.

    Re: Thunder @ Portland

I think PDX is right: that game was one of those that Portland should have won, and they just didn't.

It's an 82-game season though, and that happens a lot.

Props to our Thunder for capitalizing when they needed to (and especially Westbrook who basically won that game for OKC with his timely rebounding).

Still: the Thunder have played 3 average games (for wins) and 2 atrocious games for embarassing, blow-out losses. They still haven't played any solid defense this season, but maybe it's at least comforting to know that they're competing (and at 3-2) while not playing anywhere close to their highest level.

They've got to play better tonight if they want to compete.
I'm not really Serge Ibaka: I was born and raised in Green Country and not in the Congo. But I do like giraffes.
