"It was once said—only half facetiously—that the three greatest organizations the world has ever known were the Imperial German Army, the Roman Catholic Church and the Standard Oil Company. Inasmuch as the Imperial German Army was demobilized in 1918, it is doubtless high time that a new candidate be proposed to fill out the triumvirate, and one strong contender—most sport fans would agree—is the University of Oklahoma football team." ~ Tex Maule, Sports Illustrated, November 18, 1957
life long fan of the sports program, current grad student, lived in Norman for three years
Fourth-generation Sooner, BA 1999; JD expected in May.
OU plays the school I root for on a regular basis due to conference affiliation.
For the good old American lifestyle: For the money, for the glory, and for the fun... mostly for the money.
Uncle Dick Favor started on OU football team in '36-38. Dad graduated in '46, I believe, after returning from phillipines in WWII. I went to OU '63-67, and graduated in Pol Sci. Have been a lifelong fan. Saw several games as a kid during the 47 game winstreak...Today is America's Trasformation. I'm gonna miss the old country.
Put a lid on it! Kiss it goodbye. We gave it away, and apparently thought it made sense to do so.
My uncle is a doctor at Norman Regional and has had season tickets for nearly 50 years. I have been indoctrinated in all that is OU and raised a Sooner fan. Never went to school there, would loved to have, but it was not in the cards.
You only live once, but if you work it right...once is enough!
Been a Sooner fan since my young days back in the early 70s (osu grad/OU fan Dad turned me onto them). Went elsewhere for school, but did get 1 grad credit from there!
On the way back from Texas during a trip to my family in Irving as a child, I took a **** just before crossing into Oklahoma, once across the border Barry Switzer stood there in the flowing white robes(striking I might add)and blessed me with the holy water from the duck pond.
He said he probably would not have done that had I not sharted and it sounded like Royal coming out.
Life long fan since birth, born in it, raised in it, love it.
Sis was born in Waco when dad was stationed at Fort Hood, and of course she claims to be a native Texan but I love her anyway.
Born and raised in Norman, attended OU 72-75 Undergrad in 75. Lived about 3/4 of a mile from Owen field during that time. Attended or worked at OU games from 65 through 07. Grandfather worked at OU for 48 years and worked in the pressbox every year during that time and my father worked in in the pressbox as a statistician from about 70 through 97 with Mike Treps and company. Went to highschool with Blevins, John Carrol, Joe Simpson, Bob Barry Jr., Frank Barry and Chuck Fairbanks Jr. to name a few. Was friends with Leroy Selman and many other players throughout the years. It's in my blood...Sooner Born and Sooner Bred.
i bought a piece of paper from OU claiming i gots my book learnin from there
< this space reserved for something clever >
Graduated in 2005, husband NP graduated in 2004. Brother graduated in 2002 (I think) and 2004. My granddaddy was the first one from his farming family to rebel and attend college... but he went to Oklahoma A&M
Undergrad from 1998-2002. Went off to UGA for a while to get my MS. Now I am back getting my PhD.

2 uncles and 2 cousins graduated from OU. Did a lot of partying in Norman with the cousins in the early 80's. As far as sports go, I've been to about 30 home fball games, 4 Red River War games and have seen them play at USC in 73? and one game in Syracuse in the 90's. Several home hoops games and a few baseball games in Norman.
God, how I hate the 21st century.

Came to OU because the Director of the School of Meteorolgy sent me a letter stating they wanted me at OU. Lived in GA at the time and never thought of OU prior. Ended up with 3 degrees from OU.

MS in Industrial Engineering - 1987
Ph.D in Industrial Engineering - 1997
EDIT: I guess this makes me a real and legit fan according to the aggots.

Everything progressives do is aimed at weakening democracy, capitalism and the social and cultural institutions that support those things...... They are about subjugating people and being a ruling class.
