i think you mean "anti-american", JM.
i opposed the Patriot Act on the basis of it's name alone. then, and now. i also believe in civil liberties as a principle....not pick and choose like so many 2nd Amendment zealots who are howling now but didn't mind when the guv knew what books i checked out of the library 5 years ago.
because if it has to be called patriot act, it's a swindle.

Hi, I'm soonerscuba and I believe that modest regulatory control by a government entity into the market is a healthy and needed roadblock to a stable economy, of course I was branded Communist. I also disagreed with the Iraq war in 2003 and was told that by not supporting the president I was giving aid and comfort to the enemy and was branded as treasonous.

history shows (despite Adam Smith's invisible hand) that an unfettered market produces collusion and then monopoly.....not competition that benefits the consumer.
but "free market" is still a fun word to say that makes it seem like any conflict has been closed in the name of virtue.
funnier still, is when the board righteous Reaganites were complaining about the country being run by east coast elites. yeah, like that's a new thing since last January.

I love that even the board's self-described "libertarians" can love the government-sponsored enterprise known as the University of Oklahoma football team.
You know KC, we may agree on something. I don't really pick and choose on civil liberties and Constitutional rights either. E.g. Amendment VII is just as important to me as Amendment II. I guess where we might part ways is I don't think Amendment I = freedom from religion.
Instead, it simply means freedom to choose a religion, or chose none, and that Congress won't establish a "state religion" as governments have in many countries in Europe.
Put another way, all this athiest asshattery and feigned shock at the sight of a religious symbol on public property, coupled of course by certain religious folks' asshattery and deliberate tweaking the nose of non-believers by insisting on installation of various religious symbols on public property...sucks. Waste of time and resources.

Hi,
My name is KABOOKIE and I'm not pumping sunshine up Barak's anal cavity like some folks out in LA and I've been branded a racist redneck right wing christian zealot.

Hi, my name is Sooner Havok. I was labeled a liberal after I questioned the amount being spent in Iraq in 2005, more than a year after I cast my ballot for George W Bush.
If I am right, then religious fundamentalists will not go to Heaven, because there is no Heaven. If THEY are right, then they will not go to Heaven, because they are hypocrites.

Usually when someone says 'sponsored', they mean 'paid for'.
Oh... you know...
Nevermind. This isn't even worth arguing. By any plausible definition of the word, the University and all ancillary departments and endeavors are government-sponsored.
