Green/Red Rating System

The practice of rating other people's posts has got to go.

It only exacerbates the infantile element that is already too well represented on this site. I cannot imagine taking the time to "neg spek" somebody and write a comment along with it to boot. I can't remember, perhaps I have actually done this once or twice during the three years I have been on this sight. If I have, shame on me.

Here are some of the brillant comments that have been attached to some of the neg speks I have received..."vg", "nut sammich" "anti-sooner f*g" "ha ha, now you will never get green". Sadly, these were made by grown men. Frighteningly, these same men probably have the right to vote in elections.

For those of you who disagree with my posts, "neg speking" me doesn't bother me and confirms my belief that your mom/dad didn't give you enough gold stars on the refrigerator when you were a kid.

So if having a terminally red rating doesn't bother me, why write this? Because if we get rid of the system, my hope is that many of the grown children were so revere it will get bored and go to another site, thereby raising the level of discussion and debate for those who remain.

You know if you don't like it then just turn off the reputation feature, or just don't look at it. No one is making you go to your control panel and look at your spek.

I stay red at least half the time. I don't even look at it and in fact don't know how to neg or find it. If they have all this time on their hands, let them neg me all they want. It doesn't change my thoughts, post or life so no big deal!
