doubt it...he's got BorAss as an agent.

Nope would love to say that it will but i doubt it. Scott Boras bothers me, that kid should be grateful for that offer. How can someone who has never thrown a pitch in the major and minor leagues demand a huge cntract?? It's outrageous, I understand he has a rare talent but come on, he could be a bust and get hurt like Mark Prior..
THERE'S ONLY ONE OKLAHOMA....
I wouldn't sign with the Nats, either.
correct me if I'm wrong
but if you don't sign the number 1 pick
you get 1st and 2nd picks next year?
yes
Well, not quite empty. According to the rules of the Draft, teams that do not sign their first-round picks get compensation. That comes in the form of another pick in next year's Draft. That's how the Washington Nationals ended up with both the No. 1 overall pick and the No. 10 selection in this year's Draft. That second pick, which turned out to be Drew Storen, was technically pick No. 9A, compensation for not signing No. 9 pick in the 2008 Draft, Aaron Crow.
If the Nationals do not sign top pick Stephen Strasburg by midnight, they would then get a similar compensation pick in 2010, in this case selection No. 1A. As the standings look prior to Monday's games, Washington would then receive the top two picks in the 2010 Draft

don't sign him, JMO
I'm mean when it comes to this... i hope this messes up his career forever.
sorry
so what are we about 2 hours away till the deadline?

bout 1.5 hours left...
14 minutes left
Dude turns down 12.5 million, never having thrown a big league pitch...
...I hope his arm falls off.

Purke too, he's from Klein (houston high school)
i hope both of their arms fall off, and their family needed the money
yah
nats signed him
DEAL. Pitcher Stephen Strasburg waited as long as he possibly could Monday, but with minutes left before the signing deadline, MLB's No. 1 draft pick agreed to four-year, $15.67M deal with the Nats.
right now the potential 2010 #2 pick is breathing a sigh of relief.
As for the guy the Nats picked in the first round last year....yeah the guy is getting bad advice, too bad for him he is exempt from the deadline because he didn't sign last year.

yup the young guy will probably break this one next year?
(and Washington is in last right now. hehe)
If I were an owner or GM of a pro team, I would have a very well known rule that I simply do not entertain the idea of signing you if you are represented by Scott Boras. The man is everything that is wrong with sports agents rolled up into a walking talking scrotum.
