My gramma had an old school storm cellar. I think it had a concrete top, but the floor was was definitely a mixture of old bricks and dirt. a few shelves for storing canned goods, dust, and spiders. She planted flowers all over the top, thus denying her grandkids an excellent bike ramp.

Go for the coffin/box. Install in the garage and you never have to get wet, just walk out there and wait it out. It will much more out of the way than a concrete slab in the yard, plus it is water/dirt tight...and the neighbor teenagers won't try to sneak in there.
