Either my tinfoil hat is not tight enough or I just flat-out believe this because of Johnny Mack.

"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves, in the course of time, a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it."
- Fred Bastiat
sure makes sense to me!
I have often wondered about this.
Thinking back to the Clinton era, when the US President shared the mike with then UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, the US President's message was less impressively delivered and the message more confused.
I hated this more than you can ever imagine, because my British friends would inevitably draw the conclusion that Americans aren't smart or knowledgable or so easily distracted with chants of USA, USA, USA.
Under G.W. Bush, I fumbled the remote in my rush to hit the mute button so I don't have to hear his delivery of a very predictably you are for us or against us message. The UK PM would then try to justify that.
President Obama has got the message and the backing and some of us with the remote aren't doing the mute, but I have had a tin foil hat and what do I know.
I love this place.
