I support taxing everyone fairly. When the wealthiest folk pay a lower % than us regular workin' stiffs it bugs me.

I think there are way to many little taxes and fees in this Country that the Wealthy have been making tons of money off all of our backs.
Turnpike fees, Sales Tax on necessities, Federal Excise Tax on Vehicle Tags. The list is long. I know someone here was talking about taxes on folks who owned multiple houses and that they got a break on houses they didn't even need while the rest of us pay out our a$$ on the House we need for our families.
I'll never support a Welfare or handout like many folks seem to think might be headed their way...but My God...we pay out lots of dough for stuff we shouldn't have to.
You can look on any Phone or cell bill and find fees that you would need to take hours to research just to try and find what the heck it was for...
ATM fees. I understand a fee for using an ATM that wasn't your Bank but to get hit by both of them?
I joined a CU at my work and the machine is on-site where I work. They want $0.65 cents to get money out of it or I can go over to the CU Window and get a Real Person to cut my a free cashiers check. Then I can go deposit it in another bank on the way Home that allows me to get money out for free.
Businesses, Local, State and Federal Government Agencies have all just kept windling away at our discretionary income over the last 2 decades. Maybe 3-4 decades.
I'm sick of it. It is sad that folks now are pushing the rich to pay more...but they are tired of all the little crap they pay for that are lining the pockets of people who do absolutely nothing for the money.
I'd say it's just backlash...It might not be right...but neither is collecting money from people for nothing in return. Some of these fees and taxes have become entitlements for these invisible collectors IMO.
Why should I pay higher taxes now on the off chance that I strike it rich in the future?

Well, it is my understanding that the rich pay over 70% of all taxes. The middle class pays about 30% and the poor pay nothing. So I'm not sure you have a reason to be irritated.
