Great speech!! I liked the part where she said that there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change.

Other than the obvious, her most redeeming qualities to me are:
- Idaho accent makes me homesick
- She's the ONLY person on the ticket that has a "good" record on pro-2nd amendment issues.
- She comes off as smart, tough, and REAL.

That speech was full of substance and I found myself excited about this ticket for the first time this year.
I honestly tried to listen to speeches last week, and I couldn't stomach the lack of substance or clear answers presented by the other side.
Palin was bold, she was sharp, and I pity Biden come debate time. This candidate is no cream puff.
I've wondered, wouldn't the permission to drill more on America's coasts and whatnot raise our domestic production rates, reduce our deficit, and increase the value of our dollar here in the US? If so, that alone wins my vote.
Did anyone hear anything that they could disagree with ?

No, she's not, she's smart and she clearly doesn't back down from opposition.
The best tactic the Democrats can take (and the one they've been taking) is to try to discredit and minimize her, because at this stage it would seem that her selection was brilliant. It would seem the BHO camp has legitimate reason to be concerned.
The McCain/Palin ticket actually stands a chance of earning my vote and I know there are quite a lot of disillusioned conservatives and former Republicans who are in the same boat.
You'll notice I'm hedging my statements...this was just a speech, and it takes more than pretty words for me.
