Body proves Bigfoot no myth, hunters say

    Awesome.

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/08/14/big...ody/index.html

(CNN) -- A policeman and a former corrections officer say that on Friday they will unveil evidence of what they claim is their biggest find ever: the body of Bigfoot.
The thawed body of a creature reputed to be Bigfoot reportedly weighs more than 500 pounds.

The thawed body of a creature reputed to be Bigfoot reportedly weighs more than 500 pounds.

Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, a pair of Bigfoot-hunting hobbyists from north Georgia, say they found the creature's body in a wooded area and spotted several similar creatures that were still alive.

The carcass of the furry half-man, half-ape is 7 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs more than 500 pounds, they say. However, the two are not disclosing the exact location of their discovery to protect the remaining creatures.

Tom Nelson, chairman of the biology department at North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, said he's "pretty skeptical" the world will feast its eyes on a new species Friday.

"That would certainly rock mammalogy," joked Nelson, who specializes in the study of mammals. "I see a research grant in my future."

Whitton and Dyer plan to unveil what they say is DNA and photo evidence of the discovery in Palo Alto, California, in conjunction with a group called Searching for Bigfoot Inc.

A photograph on that group's Web site shows what appears to be the body of a large, hairy creature with an ape-like face, stuffed into a large freezer.

According to a written release, the two announced the discovery on an Internet radio show, "Squatch Detective," several weeks ago.

"The only person we would allow to come down and verify the body was 'the Real Bigfoot Hunter,' Tom Biscardi," Dyer said, referring to Searching for Bigfoot's CEO, who has been looking for the elusive, legendary creature in the United States and Canada since 1971.

Whitton is a Georgia police officer who is on administrative leave after being shot in the wrist during a pursuit. Dyer is a former prison guard.

DNA tests on the body have begun, said the statement, and "extensive scientific studies" will be done on the body by scientists, including a molecular biologist, an anthropologist and a paleontologist.

Nelson, the university professor, acknowledged that new species of animals have been discovered in recent decades and that, in science, "we always acknowledge the possibility of something new."

But he said that even in north Georgia, home to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the foot of the Appalachian Trail, it stretches the imagination to think a family of 7-foot-tall creatures could have eluded hunters, hikers and creeping development until now.

"To the average person, these places just seem like extreme wilderness where you'll find lions and tigers and bears," he said. "The reality is that you're never more than a mile from a road."

The group says the animal is male, has reddish hair and "blackish-gray" eyes and human-like feet, hands and teeth.

Re: Body proves Bigfoot no myth, hunters say

Damn, I got my hopes up...

    http://bfro.net/hoax.asp

If BFRO says its a hoax then its a hoax.

The Georgia "Bigfoot Body" story is a hoax, started by two fellows in Georgia. The "body" is a widely available Halloween costume stuffed into a large cooler, with some animal entrails laid on top. This ongoing hoax is now being orchestrated by a notorious hoaxer named Carmine Thomas Biscardi.

Links to the forum providing background details on the hoax:

Here's how the hoax got started.

Here's how the hoax was debunked.

A few important pieces of evidence on YouTube:

Here are two of the YouTube videos put out by the two Georgia boys who started this hoax. In the first video the lying sheriff deputy, Matthew Gary Whitton, goes to the airport to meet a "scientist" who he claims has come to Georgia to examine the "body." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRcKClMRz4I

Various people figured out that the "scientist" was actually the deputy's own brother, Martin Whitton.

    Busted.

In the second YouTube video the sheriff deputy admits to the hoax ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMEsD3_J2DQ ... but then continues to lie about having a "bigfoot body".

These Georgia buffoons do not run bigfoot expeditions and never have. That's just another one of their lies. They are simply two clowns in Georgia who put some bogus videos on YouTube that got some attention. They initially offered bigfoot expeditions because they were aware of the popularity of BFRO expeditions.

When they initially got some press attention in Georgia, the press attention attracted notorious hoaxer Carmine Thomas Biscardi. Biscardi has been pushing hoaxed bigfoot evidence for several years now, and he seems to pop up wherever the bigfoot subject is getting local press attention -- a sort of Reverend Al Sharpton of the bigfoot world. But unlike Sharpton, who has become a respectable defender of minority rights, Biscardi's ploys have won him the well-deserved reputation of a charlatan, a parasite, a hoaxer, and a scam artist.

Biscardi perpetrated a similar "bigfoot body" hoax on a nationally syndicated radio show in 2005. He confessed to the hoax on the air when pressed by the irate talk show host, George Noory.

Biscardi recently announced a press conference for Friday in San Francisco or Palo Alto. The purpose of this grand ruse is to attract lots of attention to himself -- attention which he plans to parlay into various profiteering ventures, the profits from which he has undoubtedly agreed to share with the two original hoaxers, Whitton and Dyer.
Legitimate bigfoot researchers have mixed emotions about this whole affair. On the one hand, it's sickening to watch this ridiculous hoax receive as much attention as it has gotten. On the other hand, this is Biscardi's final hurrah. Reporters who are planning to attend the press conference are prepared to expose Biscardi as a con-man. The media and the public will never take him seriously ever again after that, and he will finally go away.

"But what if the press conference reveals it to be a real bigfoot?"
If Biscardi actually brings the "body" itself (i.e. more than just stories, photos, and 'DNA samples') to the press conference, and he hands the "body" over to the anthropology department of the nearest respectable university (e.g. Stanford) ... and THEY declare that it's a real bigfoot ... then we shall admit we were wrong about the whole thing.

But instead, here's what you might expect from the "press conference':

Biscardi will waltz into the room with two smiling impostor Russian "scientists" ... who will say whatever Biscardi has paid them to say about the "body" that he will never allow the press to examine in the flesh, because it will be "held elsewhere at a secure location pending further study".

Carmine Thomas Biscardi's only alleged career background is that of a "Las Vegas promoter" ... which Americans understand means any manner of sleazy vocations in that town.

It's kind of like when you bring a girl home after a few drinks, and the night is rife with passion. Then you realize, wait, this chick seems kind of hairy? And also keeps pulling fish out of the aquarium. Aw f*** she's a sasquatch! Yeah, it's exactly like that.
