The Red Sox have never resigned Manny. They signed him to an 8-year deal worth $160 million back in 2000. They currently hold club options for the 2009 and 2010, but it's doubtful they'll pick up those options should they fail to trade him.

Alex Rodriguez is not even in the same boat as Manny is. A Rod has done nothing championship wise. Manny has 2 rings, hits when it matters, and produces when it matters.
