Sure, what's the big deal? At least MLB isn't like NHL or NBA where the playoffs damm near invite everybody.
So what do you propose? Eliminate the divisions, and take the top four teams out of each league for the playoffs?
This would only make up for last year when the NL West had the best three teams in the NL but only 2 could go.
