Yeah, I caught quite a few games on local TV while I was up there... the suckitude was strong. Nobody there seemed to care though. People were more interested in spring ball for the craptacular Mariners and the off-season shenanigans of Seahawk players than in the Sonics. Whether that was the case before it was apparent that the Sonics' days in Seattle were numbered, I can't say.

Heh. "Drop-kick me in the fun bag."
Well, crap.

As someone who doesn't really care one way or another I will say that I don't think either side in this melodrama acted appropriately.
And let's not forget this guy:

Tribute to DIO...
Packing up some alderwood smoked salmon at Pike's Place back in May, the fishmonger asks me where I'm shipping it to...
I reply, "Oklahoma".
Without hesitation he blurts, "You want me to make room in this box for our basketball team?"
I quietly said, "Sure, why not?"
He immediately responded, "I'll just put the ice on the fish, the team already stinks."
Fuggin Seattle. I love those over-caffeinated, cynical, pale, computer/fleece-wearin' lumberjacks and bushy-pitted orcabeauties. Truly I do and I can't wait for September!
Orcabeauties? You learn new slang everyday.
Stunning natural beauty and grace...aware of their intelligence, but with loud blowholes, they will turn on you in a second, not hesitating to eat your baby seal...tend to run in packs (pods?).
Congratulations, OKC. Now, time for the backlash.
Pick a good name or else I'm coming down there and p*ssing in your drainage ditch again.

Because we're not delusional?
I say we start an OKC Sonics - Dead Pool. What year will this team go "Charlotte Hornets"? I'll take 2015.

Dayum, that was fun. Thanks for teh linkage, Bri!Come on palefolks, you really thought a group from OKC would pay all those ducats to keep their team in Wet-town? Call me a liar all you want, I'll call you naive. My guess is I have been to more freakin M's games than most of you have been to your former NBA team's games. If the ballot box was whiney forum posts, you'd still have your team, by a landslide.
Love your city but our own culture you lumberjacks and fishmongers continue to berate is here, you just haven't looked very hard. Come visit, and while you are here you might want to take in an NBA game.
Something that irks me about his article is the "least diverse" market in the NBA comment. That's simply wrong. It takes about five minutes with Google to find some census data that shows Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Portland and even Seattle have a lower percentage of minorities than OKC. Guess he was just too lazy to try to not be a hack.

Look like I forgot Indianapolis and Boston in my list. http://diversitydata.sph.harvard.edu...&sh=1&x=53&y=9
