The first summer that I lived down here the A/C was pretty much going out but I wasn't working yet and I like it cold and that summer it seemed like it was over 100 almost everyday. We used to pull the mattress into the living room at night and sleep under the vent right off the unit. We got it replaced the next spring. It was the original Friedrich unit when the house was built in 1975 so it was a pretty solid unit since it lasted almost 30 years. Our electric bills dropped dramatically, from around 300 a month to around 60 a month and it is actually cool in here now.
