yeah, i don't think Nader is as "viable" (as a vote siphon) this time around. versus Gore in 00, maybe. i think even the dimz will figure it out that all the good commies should rally around Obamessiah for the sake of the Party.
McCain's gotta be loving this though
i guess it depends on how close it is this time
Yep, but that may be all it takes. I know it's early, but the last poll I saw had Obama at 48% to McCain's 44%. Throw in margin of error, and that's pretty cloes. Neither side could afford to forfeit any percentage points.
If Nader is that scary to the Dems, what does that say about the Dems themselves?

That the role of Bush Senior and the Republican Party circa 1992 will be played by Barack Obama and the Democrats, and the role of H. Ross Perot will be played by Ralph Nader?

So, Nader plans on earning 19% of the vote like Perot? Wow, is he going to become a bazillionair over night?Originally Posted by bri

Nader is to Dems what Ron Paul was to Reps.

seems Nader got enough votes in Florida to make a difference in 2000

I'd be surprised if Nader got more than 2% of the popular vote to go with his 0 delegate votes in November.

Meh, I don't see him garnering more than 2-3%. By becoming a geezer, he's become marginalized.
edit: damn, ScottD beat me to it.
SoonerinabileneOh sweet jesus. Its like watching the special olympics in high definition on here now.
I agree he's not going to take much of the vote %-wise. My point is that in a close race, nether side can offord to give up a couple of percent.
Granted, where he gets votes makes a big difference, but imo, those inclined to vote for Nader are going to be more alligned with Democratic philosophies.
I doubt very seriously that either the Clinton or Obama camps view this as good news.
why? This is just one more person for Obama to smite from on-high.Originally Posted by Howzit
the only place anyone is likely concerned about Nader making potentially any sort of impact is Florida. Then again, Floridians have proven every four years that they have no idea how to vote properly anyhow.Originally Posted by Howzit

Hell, he won't even be on the ballot in a lot of states.
