You mean like a pile of cold air settled into the valley? Crazy.
And yes, cold.
... that's not food.
Awww that makes me sad you are 40 miles or so away from Rhino, Blueyedsooner, and Zbird's cabin.
I wanna go to back to Colorado!

Crested Butte?
No even better Tin Cup!
The most beautiful place I have ever been in my whole entire life.

that's a great part of the state. me and some buds and some gals used to spend a lot of time around there in the summers in the 90's. good times.
my family had a place in Crested Butte for a while. much better than the Summit County razzmatazz, imo.
Only the crazies live that high up year-round.
My parents have to board up the windows of our cabin every fall to keep bears and deer from busting in during the winter. That's the second-story windows. The first-story windows are usually covered up by the snow.
This was the first time I had been to Crested Butte. I usually go to Breckenridge and love it but I was very impressed. Even though it was North Pole cold it wasn't windy and CB has a lot of really fun, fast, smooth runs. We'll be back for sure. Tons of snow.
And, the town was nice. Good restaurants.
I love Crested Butte.
We flew into Gunnison a few times and got a shuttle up to Crested.
Good times.
Yeah, I'll take that 97 in the shade 100% humidity of Oklahoma in the summer any day over mountain living.Originally Posted by Rhino

Flagstaff he is talking about Tin Cup. Because they close the roads up there in September and don't open them until Mayish, and there are people that live up there year round. The only way in or out is by snow mobile. He is not talking about the entire state. Just where his cabin is.Originally Posted by Flagstaffsooner

Seriously, its the most relaxing place I have ever been. I love it up there.

Yeah, mountain living in Flagstaff is not quite the same as living in -35 or shut off from civilization for half the year.Originally Posted by Flagstaffsooner
I wouldn't mind living in the mountains Breckenridge, etc at all. I imagine I'd get used to the cold eventually.
sure. when you are digging your car out of the snow every morning, you'd say dif.Originally Posted by LilSooner

While Gunnison is only 800+ feet higher than Flagstaff, Tincup is 3200+ feet higher than Flagstaff. So, as you might imagine, things are quite a bit different up there in the winter.
I have tons of great memories from family ski trips to Crested Butte. I loved that place. Haven't been back since 1984, it's probably changed drastically since then.
Boarder, you know BSG's dad lives up there near Breckenridge. He's livin' the dream
