Looks like Cheney should start up that Hurricane weather machine, kept in the basement of the Whitehouse, to bring some soaking rains to the area - although, he did get into a lot of trouble a couple years back, when he let it run a little too long!

That pressure prevents leakage of unwanted constituents into the lines. So, instead of positive outward pressure, the water pipes could exhibit a negative inward pressure (relative to the surrounding media), which could have a greater potential of contaminants entering entering your water system during this time of low pressure. A large number of the exceedences of drinking water maximum contaminant levels, particularly coliform numbers, are directly related to work on the water lines.

As far as the stressed water supplies - hopefully, the fall season will bring more precipition to the area.... Otherwise, you will be seeing more and more restrictive water use.

Don't worry until you and a quarter million (yes, that's right) other people have to be evacuated from your homes due to wildfires raging out of control.

That's the situation I'm in. Safe for now at my mother-in-laws', just watching and waiting to see if the fires reach our neighborhood.
