The game threads have been really slow-loading for me thus far. Does anyone know if turning off avatars and/or sigs will give any significant help with that, or does it have to be done at the server level to be of any great help?

You can do it in the "user CP". It does speed things up.
I guess they've all been turned off by someone, plus the flood control is at 60 seconds

Um, dude, we turn avatars off all the freakin' time on gamedays. Especially OU/TX.
Except only 5 people have the access to turn 'em all off, so it doesn't always happen right away.

I usually turn them off a few hours before and then turn them back on a few to several hours later...so I probably never noticed.

I think they have to stay off until a few months after the BCS Game in New Orleans next year.
