JWTK & Thunder,
You really should have an outdoor kitchen built on the patio. You MUST have a couple of different types of cookers - gas, barbecue/mesquite wood and a regular stove for accompaniments.
Of course, when you get it, we all expect an invitation to the first party. :D
And please, don't become a Darwin Award candidate! You are too funny as you are now.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what the "coupler" is, but I got a hand-me-down gas grill with the igniter dangling. I learned 2 things: 1-You can light it just fine with one of those LONG butane lighters; and 2- if you hold the business end of the igniter in one hand and push the button with the other, you get a nifty little shock. Being no engineer :( , I'm guessing the igniter creates a spark by friction.

Hey since some are on the duct-tape subject, I have a funny story. I'm in the mortgage business and a guy that I work with (who is known for being frickin hillarious!) was on the phone with a customer the other day and she wanted to add a room on to her house. He told her to "buy a single-wide trailer and duct-tape it to the back of her house, it'd be cheaper!"
Needless to say, I was rolling accross the floor for about 10 minutes!
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

"Can we have some more beans Mr. Taggert?"
"WHEW... I think you've had ENOUGH!"

Oh the camptown ladies sing this song, doo-dar doo-dar...
I like the idea of having more stuff, but the grill is the only one that I get to create fire on. I am almost ready to revert back to a flint and steel, then I will eat things with fire from lightning... then it's all raw for me, baby.
Thunder, what the hell kind of couple is it? We can't help unless you give us the info. I have put together several BBQ grills and some had battery operated ignitors while others had that nifty capacitance device.

Mr TigerGirl just got a Char-Griller at Lowe's. He went with the Smokin' Pro. It's da bomb. Cost about $200 I believe. We had to replace the old Coleman, we called it the Red Rocket. It went to a happy place.

We like to cook our turkeys on the grill. Aluminum pan, roasting bag..... frees up the oven and tastes great.

I can see it now ...Thunder out on his porch, grilling a turkey in Minnesota on Thanksgiving Day, in an eskimo outfit, with a cigar in one hand and a bourbon in the other.
My Thanksgiving plans are already made. Thanks Baja.
Re: I AM THE GREATEST THREAD ENDER OF ALL TIME!!!
Thunder, read the post again - roasting, NOT grilling. Hint: aluminum pan, roasting bag. NOT grilling. So it is throw it on the grill (in the bag which is in the pan), leave it cooking for a couple of hours and check it every so often. Our grill has a thermometer built in the cover - almost oven-like.
But I will picture you in the eskimo suit, cigar (bad Thunder - you know the risks) and drink (okay, you can have one bad habit, not to excess) in hand. Tee-hee, get your wife to take your picture and post it here.
Only 20 days of school left.
