Up until late this season, all the experts said McNeal was the better QB between he and Young. Now everybody thinks VY is the greatest athlete that has ever lived. Will McNeal still go in the first round or is he completely overshadowed by Vance?
Reggie won't be a first rounder IMO. The rap on him(that I hear) is that he's dumb and only survives by pure talent. Makes it tough for the NFL.
He'll get about the same opportunity that Michael Bishop did. Slightly smarter. Less talent. About even.
With McNeal's unique skills, he'll likely end up in either the housekeeping or food service industries.
Any team that drafts McNeal anywhere early or as a QB would be stupid. Anybody who sits out the big rivalry game, last game of his collegiate career, and a game that determines bowl eligibility after being cleared to play by doctors just so they can stay healthy for the combines is not a team player that isn't fit to lead any NFL team. He's faster than Vince Young and probably has a stronger arm. But he's not as smart, not the leader, not as good of a runner, and not as good of a passer. In his years at Texas, Vince learned and was able to get better each year. McNeal didn't get much better.
That's what they said about Ja'mar Toooooooooooommmmbbbbbs. And like Toombs, I doubt he'll be a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th rounder. McNeal is a selfish player, documented time and again. The teams he got dealt with generally sucked, and that is not his fault. But you could tell the players ralllied around Stephen McGee late in the season.
