Thought I'd throw this up....for the lesser "name" sport teams. BOOMER SOONER! Men's Tennis lost the NCAA championship "match" game...to UCLA, so they got 2nd. (not sure how tennis works on that end) Women's Tennis - lost in 2nd round ranked #18 at the time. Women's Golf got 4th after leading for 2 rounds. Men's Golf - currently 6th after 2 rounds Rowing won the Big12 and Conf USA championships (18 seed for NCAA) Men's Gym - 2nd NCAA Women's Gym - 1st NCAA *vball #19 at the end of the summer. *wrestling #10? any others?
Women's Softball (not that there is a competitive Men's program) - 7 seed, going to 4th WCWS in a row.
lol...yup, I guess I counted them as more of a "name" sport...since they won it last year, the games are on espn, etc. fball bball (both men/women) baseball/softball
See, I misread. Anyway, I know the Men's golf team is #6 after today's play, but the top 8 advance to match play tomorrow, so it's hard to know exactly where we're rated.
yeah...I emailed sooner sports telling them they ought to have a link to a simple page that has all the teams and their current ranking....since OU competes in the Sears Cup or whatever it's called. I just think it's cool that a lot of the non-big name sports do well.
