I didn't say he was better, I said he may be better. From everything I've heard/read, he's a special QB that is a natural leader (he's probably more responsible for OU getting Dallis Todd than the coaches are). My point was that OU has very good depth at QB, and that will continue for at least the next few years.
I know the media is always in a rush to be the first to break a story, but I always find it amusing when it surrounds OU/Stoops. Anyway, whomever wins the job will have earned it, and that's all you can ask. If it's Knight, then that's the guy that's best positioned to lead the team to wins, same for Bell. I just hope that whichever QB gets the start is given time to succeed. We're not always a patient fan-base.
Thanks Colly...wasn't sure if I wanted to believe BBJ or Deano on their own, but 2 doofuses combined must be right, right?
Deano's "facts" as often as not go up in smoke. He's the least-likely guy I would put any stock into actually having info to break a story like this. I think if Stoops and Heupel knew, they wouldn't jerk the other one around.
Stoops is as connected to the OU football program as anyone, a sports director isn't going to go public with something like this if he didn't feel confident
But wait................. http://www.tulsaworld.com/article.a...ed_his_quarterback/20130820_92_0_NRAoto292565
NORMAN – Bob Stoops maintained he has not settled on a starting quarterback after practice Tuesday, even as reports surfaced that he has. "No, I haven't. Who reported that?" Stoops said in the face of bulletins by Oklahoma City television stations KFOR and KWTV that he has chosen Trevor Knight over Blake Bell. "Of course it isn't true."
