    Ehh, not really. ;)

FWIW, I thought there was equal complaining on both sides. Dirk Kuyt was chirping at the ref quite a bit as well.

oh there was a lot of complaining from both sides, and Kuyt got his yellow about 30 minutes into the game. As to your quote, the Sky guys said that the word they got was that the card that appeared to be going at Essien was a confirmation of the yellow he'd given to John Terry moments earlier after the Ben Haim/Torres collision where he allowed the play to continue.

That was the gayest PK awarded ever.

and by ever I mean so far this year.

The season's still young, my friend. ;)

To be fair, I thought it was as tacky as the foul call last Saturday that set up Gerrard's free kick game winner.

Styles not reffing any Premiership matches this upcoming weekend...he and the assistant ref that incorrectly waved off a goal in another match both getting the "suspension" for their mistakes.

I wish there was a place in Tulsa I go could go to watch the fixtures.

Well, besides the ones I get on FSC.

Hopefully his name's not Dave, cause I know him if it is. He wasn't the best or the worst ref when I was playing.

Earlier today, Liverpool put Sunderland away 2-0, with a beautiful goal from Momo Sissoko and a finisher from Andrei Voronin. Lots of other good games going on right now.

Chelski's glad they have Ashley Cole as a defender.

No, his header that kept a potential Portsmouth goal off the board wasn't a feat of athletic brilliance. But it was all about positioning and patient defense.

Man City just gave Arsenal too many chances today. I was hoping we could steal some points, but it didn't work out. Still off to a good start though.

fulham pulled their usual get-up-a-goal-and-choke-at-the-end routine.

they've led in all 4 games so far and have 3 points to show for it.

Getafe takes a 1-0 lead relatively early against Sevilla, then proceeds to have TWO players get straight red cards in the first half for awful tackles. Sevilla ties it in the first two minutes of the second half.

This isn't Premiership news, but for anyone else who watches a wider scope of matches during the season that may have been watching the opening of the La Liga season on GolTV between Sevilla and Getafe might have seen what looked like an innocent incident with 22 yr old Antonio Puerta of Sevilla. The story below tells the tragic conclusion of the situation.

Chelsea is going to be the poisoned chalise job in England. Abramovich got rid of Ranieri for finishing 2nd, now he's forced Mourinho out for in essence finishing 2nd.
