Unfortunately no...I made the post in the football forum and realized it right after I posted it...Asked for a mod to move it here...and they didnt.

But one good thing is, it should get more exposure over there. :O

I meant this post we're in now? Forget it, Weber is probably just going the Buzz/Painter route and leveraging for more $$. I can't really blame them though, if I could get a 500k raise just by acting interested I would probably do it too.

I guess he would be a nice name and certainly has experience. I just can't seem to get all that excited about a guy who came very close to getting fired this year himself.

So, Its not Shaka Kahn, Brad Stevens, Memphis dude, Lon Kruger, Evans, or whoever...

    Does anyone want the job?

Day 17 of fan captivity. We last had a head coach to complain about on March 14 and sources are growing limited! :(

Seems like some fans here are discrediting him.

I don't know why, he seems like he has done well at UCO.
  10. Boomer.....

    Boomer..... .....Sooner!

I think it's just because he has no experience at a higher level.

True dat...........What happened to all the BIG TIME coaches who were going to JUMP at the OU job after Capel was fired? Are they slow jumpers ? :)

nobody said there would be "big time" coaches jumping at the job.
but you have no idea who is "jumping at the job" do you?
billy gillispie may have jumped at the job but joe c wasn't interested.
buzz may have jumped at the job...but then he made it to the sweet 16.
buzz may have still jumped at the job but joe c didn't want to pay what he wanted.

I think the one that got away was bcg. I don't blame Joe for not wanting him but I think he could have been good.

I'm not stressed yet though on the coaches search. Just about any body is an upgrade.

If I wanted an unreliable source, I would have asked my stapler.

Why fire Capel in the first place if you aren't going to hire someone who is better than him? Joe C screwed up massively on this whole deal. Gave the guy a huge raise and contract extension and then fire him two years later?

Lame. Seems like everyone is unreliable. But Gootlieb was right when he said Capel was going to be let go. Oh-well thought it was good info to toss along.
