Rice also picked up Todd Dilbeck, the head coach of Mustang, as their offensive line coach a few days back.
Good for him. I have always respected Major because he seemed like a tough smart quarterback not unlike Josh.
Yeah, I read that too about Mustang's coach. This is an interesting move for Major. I can't help but wonder if taking this job right now is really in his best interest. Big gamble, but maybe it'll work out for him. Maybe someday he could be our DKR.
Compared to what Rice was doing on offense before, I am sure a ham sandwhich could improve the play calling on that team.
Are you saying Rice will fire their whole staff in 3-5 years? Do you know anything about Rice football?
months? Seriously, I hope all goes well for them. Sadly, the last of the wishbone offenses will be gone now
i guess major wasn't "seeing the light" on the almighty one Greg Robinson's staff at 1-10 Syracuse. i liked major OK, but people forget he was the starter in the 63-14 game in 2000.
I wonder if a little bit of homesickness might have had something to do with this decision to coach at Rice. I've never been to Syracuse, NY but I'm confident that the Tex-Mex, barbeque and gumbo there just doesn't measure up to what's found along the Texas-Louisiana Gulf coast or in Austin. I don't even want to get into the winters up there!! The big question about the program is how it's going to be supported by the university admin. alums and the city of Houston.
