Any idea why Rivals shows him with no interest in us while Scout shows him visiting on 3 November (aTm)? Why visit if no interest?

He will eventually be beaten out by Mario Barber, III anyway.

I can't answer that question, but I think it's very unlikely Jones becomes a Sooner.....but here's to hoping.

Is he some kind of head case?

We're in his top three and now his best friend likes us too.

I bet he still goes to Bama though.

I'll take him. Imagine our WR class this year.

that means about nothing except hes talented, if hes talented and has his head on straight thats great, but i seem to remember a #1 QB we roped out of texas a few years ago that didnt work out so well, so it goes a little deeper then him just being the #1 WR in the nation

I think taking the #1 receiver in the nation is worth the risk. Obviously our coaches are recruiting him, so why go against what our coaches want?

For reference, the last 5 Rivals #1 WR:

    2007 - Ronald Johnson - USC
    2006 - Percy Harvin - Florida
    2005 - Derrick Williams - Penn State
    2004 - Early Doucet - LSU
    2003 - Andre Caldwell - Florida

I'd take any of them in this Sooner Offense.

Although my knowledge of Jones is limited to what I read or see on here & Scout, he seems to be a tremendously talented player. I'd like to see him dawn the Crimson of OU, but I think it'll be for the Tide.

Julio Jones is a BEAST. Man amongst boys, and it will stay that way in college.

  18. His buddy that we offered comitted to Bama after Saban, seemingly to try and wrap up Jones' committment, offered him. I believe his friend is only a 2 star and it seemed like OU, Bama, and others were trying to rope in the friend to get Jones. True or not, Jones is gonna go to Bama...bet the farm on it.

Any idea why Scout just had an article about Jones taking notice of the Sooners, but Rivals says nothing? Does he or does he not have interest in the Sooners?

I was wondering the same thing. I do not think that he is just looking at bama. I think we have a good shot. Everybody seems to forget that these kids look at coaches and the surroundings just as much as a winning program. I hope that we get him, if he stays home then Mr. Owens from Muskogee, my home, should be our # 1 target. Go Sooners.
