Chrissy McSimms: On the quarterback potential of his little brother, Matt

He's a junior at Don Bosco Prep, which lost in the New Jersey state championship last month. He can really throw. I could really throw at that age too, but he's a step ahead of me. It hurts me to say that.

Hopefully we can get MAck on the recruiting trails of NJ again. It would be fun to harass another Simms at UT and beat them 4 years in a row.

He has already said he doesn't plan to attend UT.

So in addition to being better than Chris at that age, he's smarter, too!!

Why wouldn't he go here? He'd be under the tutelage of Greg Davis, championship quarterback maker. :D

Wonder if he sucks like his Ric Flair on crack looking Ricky Shroeder on coke dressing big brother.

Too bad the kid has to walk around with the Chris Simms baggage and I know it would be worse for him if he went to UT. I don't blame him at all for stepping out of the shadow which is why there is not much mutual interest in continuing a Simms legacy at UT. It's really alot the same for Brady Leaf.

But Matt will probably be a hell of a player for somebody in a year or two.

Except Ryan Leaf had great collegiate success unlike Chrissy. Not a good analogy.

    Prolly.

BIG F-ING DEAL!!! i can really throw too. the question is, can he throw it to the people he's suppose to throw it to??? (i.e., NOT the ones wearing red jerseys).

Riiight. Simms left UT with a 26-6 record. Ryan in his 2 years at WSU went 15-8 as a starter.

Ryan's name will always be synonomous with huge BUST.

Simms will always be remembered as being part of the greatest play in Red River Rivalry history. :)

I'm not a Ryan Leaf fan or anything, 15-8 at WSU > 26-6 at UT

Not really. WSU was just as good after he left and had a great defense going. He had one winning season and one bowl game which he lost.

Apples and oranges. Bomar is sacked with the game well out of hand. TRRW smacked Chrissy when the 'Horns were still - in theory - able to drive the ball down the field and win a big game.

Oh, but...there are some similarities. Chrissy was involved in a major whipping against OU in 2000.
