Big 12 name change

I'm sure this thread was here over the summer just like it was on the other board which will go unnamed :cough OUI, OUI :cough.

Anyway now it seems they are really looking into a name change for the conference.

With Bebee handling it, I'm sure he has put this question in the capable hands of a "firm" that has no concept of the various cultures of the schools involved, with the added bonus of cluelessness regarding the rich histories.

They should be like prince and call it:

"The conference formerly known as the big 12"

Or just shorten it to: "The Conference"

 

I hope the new conference name doesn't contain a number at all, or uses "X" as a letter rather than a roman numeral. ("Conference X" for example, though I don't like that name.)

In an ideal world you don't have to change the name of your conference just because you add or drop a team.
