Bad Dudes was awesome...but I thought the only games that qualified were the ones that were 1-on-1 fighting. Not those scrolling "bad guys keep coming" type of games. That was the kind of game Bad Dudes was, right? I get them mixed up sometimes. If that is what Bad Dudes was like, me and my friend spent a lot of time at one of the local gas stations playing that one. Out of all the ones in the original post, I like MK and VF best. I just remember Virtua Fighter being kind of the first of its kind. I don't remember really what "kind" I'm referring to, but it just seemed like a really new thing at the time. Maybe because the "ring" was 3 dimensional, not just side-to-side.
I didn't see any rules...and furthermore, I don't care about rules. The only rules I care about are how BAD DUDES VS. DRAGON NINJA RULES!!! I'M BAD!!!
In a Michael Jackson sorta way maybe. Your game selections suck. Play by the rules or I'll go fatality on you.
Fatality...feh. By the time you're done pushing up-down-left-left-select-A-D-circle-right-down-triangle-circle-circle-up-up, I'll have had a Coke, picked up some nunchucks and whomped your *** off a speeding semi. Then me and President Ronnie will go have a cheesburger...ha ha ha.
My choice for write-in vote (if you consider boxing to be "fighting"): Bald Bull had some mad boxing skillz.
Yeah, we're talking about different genres here. The games you're talking about, like Double Dragon, Bad Dudes, and Final Fight, are commonly called "Beat 'Em Ups," I think.
