80's cartoon watchers

I'm trying to remember the name of a cartoon which some of you may remember.

It was on in the late 70's early 80's, about where the characters in the cartoon would show a certain character a picture of a moon and he would turn into a likeable wearwolf, and when they'd show him a picture of the sun, he would change back to a human.

It was a mystery type of cartoon, kind of like Scooby Doo, maybe even made by the same company that made Scooby.

Does anyone remember that cartoon? If so, what was it called?

For those who don't know the story-I dated someone in college who was in the flag corps at the same time as Phx, and I used this line on her once. Sexy hilarity did not ensue that night.
